The course climbs 760 m+. With 262 m/km of climbing, the course is exceptionally steep, with long hiking-grade sections. By gradient, 100% of the distance is uphill, 0% downhill and 0% flat. The longest climb runs 3.3 km at an average 22.4% grade (742 m of vertical). The steepest climb averages 52.3% over 0.3 km. Surface: 56% trail and 40% road.
Trekking poles are strongly recommended: about 1.8 km of the course is steep enough for them to pay off.
Runnable descent is too short to damage the quads: plan the race around climbing and fuelling.
