TUT VK is the 6.0km vertical kilometre at Tara Ultra Trail 2027 (Serbia). The race starts on June 5, 2027.
Short race: go all out.
The course climbs 1020m+. With 170m/km of climbing, the course is exceptionally steep, with long hiking-grade sections. By gradient, 95% of the distance is uphill, 5% downhill and 0% flat. The longest climb runs 5.9km at an average 17.4% grade (1031m of vertical). The steepest climb averages 37.5% over 0.3km. Surface: 60% trail, 29% smooth, and 11% road. Flat-equivalent effort: 13.7 FlatKM.
The course also passes close to Sjenic (1442m).
Trekking poles are strongly recommended: about 3.0km of the course is steep enough for them to pay off.
There is too little runnable descent to damage the quads: plan the race around climbing and fuelling.
